Thank you Don. And when we finally do meet (No I haven't met Don Yet). I really hope you don't look like some of the posts from above.

We are in agreement though that the pics from last night are in fact portraits of Jamie?

Car is almost complete. Meth system is 100% finished. IAT relocation is done, before it was at the MAF and now it's in the blower.(early design whipple)
We decided to put a new rear center section in. The existing one showed bearing race walk and the driveshaft was hitting the tunnel. We have a whole new rear(slightly used) to go in and we will re adjust the pinion angles.

Also included the IAT sensor we made. Has to be designed to drop into the plenum to read correctly.

Hopefully this week the car will be 100% ready to roll.

For those following. Dans car is all set now. The new rear and axle fixed all noises, clunking ect.

So, we were able to tune it up with the methanol.
Stock motor- A6
longtube headers
Whipple with 3.75 pulley
102mm TB

Here are the results. Kept the tune on the softer side for Dan to enjoy it.

Had a 3.8 on it before but this one was bolted on at one time. His car also had the rev limiter before set to 6600rpm, which if I ran it that high it would of kicked that peak hp number up a good amount. These pulls are to 6200rpm.

If this is an OE center section, what could cause the shaft to hit the tunnel? Tight shaft clearance and sloppy/worn bushing? DSS 3.5" shaft?

A bunch of things can add up to do it. The rear angle was changed which put the front of the pumpkin up a little, closing that distance. Then the driver axle was binding which could cause the pumpkin to lift up even more. Then add in body flex and rear cradle bushing flex. All those could add up and cause the contact.

We reset pinion angle and got the axle sorted. Does not hit now.

I'd like to see the location of that IAT sensor and what it takes to get one!

Final update

Car is back home and 100% fixed for the first time in 3 years. I am glad to see Slowhawk on C5 and give those of us on the East Coast real quality work the first time. Can't thank Don and crew enough.

My watered down review can be found here.
