how did you guys not understand? lol and that does make sense. I put the car in 6th at about 50mph, 45 way to low and the bogging down does make sense.

Everyone else who has been complaining about the V6 A6 vibration at 45 mph, well I think I have found the problem.
Last night while I was driving to work, I had it in D because I wanted to cruise to work when I noticed the vibration again from 43 to 45 MPH... so i did an experiment. I shifted from D to M because i had a sneaky suspicion... since I drive so much in M, I hit the down shift button and BOOM I was driving in 6th gear doing 45 MPH.... weird. Now when i drive in M, i normally dont even touch 6th gear until i am at least doing 50-55 MPH. On average, I cruise 45 to 55 MPH in 5th gear or so. ------- I edited to here and gave up...taking too much time. (except for the spelling mistakes that were underlined v v v) i was right in D mode when the computer controls the shifting it shifts WAY to early into 6th and it causes heavy vibration so much so your rear view mirror rattles like a bass hit my only guess for this problem is one of two things A it is programed to save you as much fuel as possible IE get to 6th as fast as possible i notice when your just cruising it shifts about 1,800 or below rpm as me in M i shift perfectly at 2,000 on ave or close to it or B the computer coding is screwed up and it feels it needs to shift into 6th so damn early either way the computer should be recoded to shift at a higher speed then 45 it knocks it too low on the RPM and bogs to the point the car vibrates my only way around this and the main reason i started to drive in M was to avoid this i knew something was wrong i never guessed it was the computer shifting time programing ugh anyhoo anyone else try this i got all shift points down from 1est to 6th IE 10mph shift to 2ed and so forth everyone else try this tell me what you think and Jeff hi if your reading this can you call your tech people asking them about changing the coding for the shift points? with out voiding anything to improve a more stable non vibrating ride? is it possible? thank you for your time Nightfall (i learn ever car i own to the T and all its flaws)

As for your grammar. The title of this thread, "...problum", is why I checked it out. I did mention this to you in another thread but nobody else said a word. I didn't want to get dinged for mentioning it a second time. I will reiterate, you are a very open and honest person. |

I hate this problem, even going up a hill the car will go in 6th and just start shaking looking for power. I always feel like the car is just constantly shifting in and out of 6th everywhere i go at any speed.
