Testing new Pfadt shifter

Last night Jordan of JDP motorsports installed the new Pfadt shifter for me. First impressions-much easier to shift especially from 2nd to 3rd. It feels like the shifter helps "pull" it into 3rd gear. I can get through all the gears more quickly now. I'll update more after a week driving with it.

SSOOCH had the most difficult part of the job as Jordan and I made him hold the car up as seen in the pic.

Any pictures of it installed inside the car? Was there much clearance on the shift rail and did your pin slide in ok?

Great job guys!

Lets use this thread as the "official" development install thread, as there are 6 of you who will be installing the development shifter!

I have some shots of it installed. As for the clearance and pin question I'll have to defer to Jordan of JDP motorsports. He will chime in.

I've really enjoyed being a sort of test mule for Pfadt Racing's new shifter. So after a week of driving here are some thoughts:

I really like the shorter throw and the ultra light weight of the shifter. It creates an easier "rhythm" between the clutch and shifter. I feel like I can actually use the power of the car better now. It is a little noisy, (it rattles) when you jump on the throttle, but that is a non issue for me. At cruising speed there is no rattle. I do, however, wish it had the old fashioned ball instead of the stick. It's too small for my hand. It is a little plain looking. Perhaps color matching or a different sort of finish would improve that.

In summary, it's a quality piece and performance is great! It does need more visual appeal.
