Jackstand fear
I'm fixing to be installing a short shifter, catback, and headers, and I no longer have access to a lift. I have to say I'm frightened of jackstands. Anyone do their work on stands or ramps? Any pointers?

Put them under the frame only, if it makes you feel better, leave the jack under the car too

I did my lsx and 4l80e swap on jack stands. Just make sure you have them in the right location for the work you are doing and you will be fine. I usually leave the jack under the as well

I will be doing the short shifter first so do you recommend all 4 corners or just the front 2?

Pick up some rhino ramps from autozone, I did my short shifter install using ramps.

i use stands. i also leave jack(s) with a little weight on them. also have my wife check on me often, just in case

Use jackstands all the time. Put it up. Shake the vehicle a little bit. Shouldn't move at all if you did it right. Should be like a rock.

Ramps and jackstands work. I don't have access to a lift but I use that stuff all the time. I used that stuff to install my shifter as well.

If you are only lifting front of back at a time, make sure you chock the remaining ground wheels.
