How long for replacement part?

For those of you that have had to have something replaced upon delivery, how long did it take for the replacement part to show up at the dealer? I have a broken pillar on the right side of the windshield that the dealer has ordered and waiting for so they can fix it in my car. It isn't that big of a deal, but it seems to be the first thing people notice when they get in the car. I am just curious if replacing something like this should take a week or two or months?

I have a broken pillar on the right side as well....I took delivery on June 15th and they ordered a replacement part that day....we're still waiting for the part.

People ask me about it all the time too....I just tell them that hey, it came all the way from Canada and if that's all that happened en route then i'm fine with that.

Haha yeah that's pretty much what I say too, though I still hope it doesn't take like 2 or 3 months for the part to show up.

It's a crapshoot right now. It's cosmetic so they have bigger fish to fry.

BTW would be nice for some measurements of the pillars in control with and without Sunroof. I am curious if it's the same part.

Cause I was thinking that since headroom changes the pillar covers would be shorter right? Did wrong one get put on in some cases?

Supposedly it's the plastic gromet is too small for the hole it goes in. Don't think there is a difference in pillars since it stops short of the headliner. I have the exact same problem shown in the pic and it was put on order May 25th.

This is a problem with a huge number of cars so I'm guessing a fix will come out in mass like what would happen in a recall notice...

Just saying I always want to check the numbers. Your probably right. Sounds like you should get a lithograph for your troubles.

LOL... they told me they were ordering a Pillar too, but I'm sure all GM is going to send them is a plastic snap in gromet. I took the pick a while back when we were comparing the reverse mohawk headroom vs. sunroof...

But I'll take a litho anyway...

Hmm interesting, I didn't realize so many were having the same issue. Is it just the right pillar?

I guess all parts ordering is not the same. My speedo didn't work, dropped it off on a Monday night, they told me Tuesday at about 3:00 p.m. that they were going to have to replace the Instrument cluster and ordered it that day. Said it would be there Wednesday, the very next day. I had my doubts and hoped I would have the car by Friday. Turns out they were right, they got it Wednesday, and got it installed, Dell computer guy came to the dealer and I picked it up that same Wednesday. I was quite impressed as I was hoping to have it back by Friday. Possibly the difference in time has to do with it being a cosmetic fix, but since you asked about "parts" in general, thought I would post. By the way, the speedo has worked perfectly since.

No, not the "bathing suit" silly...

My right pillar is broken too. I need to take it in so they can order the part.

I broke my driver side mirror. I let my dealer know on Monday and it was here on Wednesday. Should be all wrapped up today.
