Had a "clank clank clank" coming from the rear
So I had a metallic clanking sound coming from the left rear of the car. Heard it at low speed rolling in a parking lot.
Went under the car and searched for anything that was loose - no luck. I then started tapping on components under the car until I heard the same clank sound again. The middle of the aluminum wheel was the only item that made the same sound. I removed the wheel and rolled it down the driveway....."clank...clank, clank" Any ideas? My assumption is that the tire pressure sensor fell off inside the tire. If that is the case, it is wierd, because the sensor is still functioning - according to the car. Anyone else have this issue?

Maybe part of it did? That is strange definitely. I hate to say maybe perhaps you 'll have to pull the tire and inspect the rim?

this might be the exhaust baffle problem. I have the same problem on my car. when you get just above idle is when I hear it. some people have had decent luck with getting it fixed, other (like myself) have not.

As long as the sensor is still inside, it should still function, whether it's still attached or not I would guess. It's a wireless sender.

It can sure take a lot of abuse. It has been bouncing around in there for a couple weeks. This would be a warranty thing, right? It failed on it's own and it is a sensor.

I would think that it should be under warranty. Only way to find out for sure would be taking it to the dealer.

On the other hand, if it was something inside the wheel that was loose, I'd expect it to make the wheel very unbalanced at speed.

Here's a thought! Take advantage of that new car warranty and let the dealership figure it out!
