itunes to Flash drive question

Not sure if this has been asked or not before... But I use itunes quite a bit and would like to be able to move the music that I have bought onto a flash drive to use once I get my Camaro. I'm assuming that the flash drive will not play that format, so I how do I transfer them so that they are playable? Is there an easy way to do it?

Thanks in advance guys.

Can't sleep tonight, so while I was up.... did some digging and found this:

http://www.noteburner.com/

You can DL the shareware version, but it only lets you record up to 3 minutes of music. I am going to buy the full version, it works great and I won't have to use up tons of blank CDs in order to convert my itunes library so I can use the flash drive. Basically what it does, is it allows you to burn the music from itunes to your hard drive, by passing the CD step all together. Pretty nifty!

If they're recent, non-protected files, you should be able to just save them as MP3s. If they're older files, you may have to burn them to CD then rip them as MP3s (I think you can adjust the rip file format in the settings somewhere).

Or just use Amazon MP3 store, Zune store, etc. That way you just get a mp3 from the start.

you could also upgrade to itunes plus for all your songs that are protected... it's about 30 cents a song... go to the itunes store, and on the right side of that page there is a link that says "upgrade to itunes plus"

Man this flash drive is one cool feature. I got almost every song I own on the drive, plug
it into usb port and there it is on the radio display. One of the coolest things I have seen.

That's a good idea Bennett. I did look at doing that, but it looks like it would only upgrade about 1/3 of my library.

A scam that only Apple can pull off.

If your using Itunes you can plug your Ipod, touch, or Iphone into the USB and control it from the head unit.

I have an Iphone, but I would rather have a usb drive or a small portable drive that holds all of my music instead of only a portion of it.

Does anyone know if the USB would power a hard drive?

I use a Western Digital HD that is powered by the USB ports. . can get them in a 250 or 500 GB.
