Parking. Anyone else having trouble?

Hey,

Just need to know if it's me or others too. For the life of me, I can't seem to get the parking down in this car. The car is so wide I can never tell where I am within the lines. Same goes for the front and back. Can't tell if I'm poking out or not. After about three weeks of driving the car, I thought I would have this down by now, but I can't seem to shake it.

I know...

You sit real low to the ground and the hood hides the true front clearance. If you have ever driven a LARGE vehicle.. it will make things some easier. I would reccomend ... I know it it tough... PRACTICE! You have to learn your car. Most people are ashamed to admit it and that pride thing kicks in. But you have an AWESOME car and you don't want to be "That Guy" with the dinged up car.

Go to an empty parking lot. You can also make a 1/2 PVC marker (it is cheap) to identify the edges of the parking space. It wont scratch your car and it wont take long before you can do it with no problem!

Better to practice than wreck!!!

also, as an assist, go get one of those little circle mirrors that show a wider field of view (technical name escapes me). it will help you see your tires

I'm alright getting between the lines, but can't judge where the trunk ends for the life of me yet. And since I back into my spots it's really killing me, lol. But I'm sure after a while I'll get used to it. Sure wish the park assist was on the 010. I can even see the cut out where the 4 little lights are gonna be next year.

You can get a wireless reverse camera + monitor for about $100 and, if willing, you can install it yourself. That's what I'm considering as a first mod to the Camaro.

My boss at work told me to "Park like I owned the lot" another words...2 spaces. He's all about my Camaro and doesn't want it to get dinged

I am fortunate, some of the first vehicles I drove were 2 ton grain trucks. Had to use the mirrors on those, no choice. Just take your time.

I definitly can relate. I actually parked next to someone for the first time today and I have had the car for about 3 weeks myself

The main reason for this is I work where I can park on next to a curb and not have to worry about anyone parking next to me

I noticed when I pulled into the spot it was very awkward trying to judge where I was in between the two cars and I actually had to pull back and readjust myself. It didn't help the parking spot was super small either, but I am thankful nobody dinged up my doors as I am super paronoid about that

I definitely have had issues, and I've owned for a little over 6 weeks now.

At first, when I was parking in spaces I was way too far to the right, a lot of times only a few inches from the line. Took about 4 weeks but now I am finally able to center it decently. Today I pulled into a spot, and since there was no car in the adjacent spot, I pulled all the way up. Well I thought I did. I get out of my car and the car's ass is still about 2 or 3 feet in the spot behind me.

I'm just surprised it's taken me this long so adjust.

So pretty much I always think I'm closer to the left than I really am, and I have no clue how far back of the car is. Embarrassing!
