I hope they never put any kind of keypad on the Camaro.
I've been driving for 40+ years, and have never locked myself out.

Never had (or needed) any car with a keypad.

No. What would be nice if GM programmed the thing to not lock the doors if the key / keyfob is present inside the car like alot of manufacturers do.

15 cars and 28 years of driving and have never once locked the keys in the car..
Can not be done!!
I tried and it is impossible.
You can not lock yourself out unless you open the trunk and lock the car and leaving the keys in the trunk.

I just did it.. just to test this theory.

if the keys are IN the ignition, you are correct..

if I put the keys on the seat and hit the door lock button on the console, close the door, car is locked and keys inside..

made a video of it:

or make the driver door only lockable from the outside with the key like honda does/used to do. though you could lock them in the trunk.

Hell no. I will never own a vehicle with this feature. Smart keys are one of the worst inventions ever. Vehicles with this feature are so freaking easy to steal it's stupid. You might as well leave the keys in the ignition, the doors unlocked and a big flashing sign above the car that says "Steal Me".

turn off car, put key in pocket, open drivers door, hit the delayed lock, exit, grab my crap, close door, walk away. Car locks and arms 5 seconds later and toots the horn so I know.
You use a delayed lock feature on your Camaro? I didn't know there was one.

It's described in your owners manual... Did you take the time to read yours?

Cmon everyone knows that the manual is a trouble shooting tool after you screw something up, not to learn how to use something before you screw something up.

People just don't realize how much useful information is in there.. While there is a bunch of Government mandated stuff, the information on the operations of controls and features are really a must read in my opinion.
Of course referring to specifications and maintenance schedules should be read BEFORE needed.

I just use one of my children to sit in the car to prevent being locked out
