Boost has no affect on the timing chain.

If you want to upgrade the C5R chain is what we recommend.

We never/ever re use the timing chain if a Cam is going in. Seen enough failures throughout the years. When they fail it takes out the motor.
We just use C5R chains on every cam swap.

If your in there you might as well upgrade the pump and chain at the same time.

Def worth the cost and effort.

Yes - the cam swap is the reason you need to upgrade the chain and gears. Add the LS2 dog bone to eliminate the spring loaded LS3 tensioner while you are at it. No need to upgrade if you are still running a factory cam.

I would never swap a cam and run a factory chain. Like Slowhawk, seen a few break and cost the owners big money later. A chain is silly cheap compared to the labor and potential risk.
