2014 ss ac compressor replacment

My 2014 ac compressor was making a grinding bearing type noise. I took it in because it still has a few months of bumper to bumper warranty.

They are replacing the compressor today. Just curious how involved this job is, and what is going to happen.

Can the compressor be removed and installed without having to remove other components?

Other than being in a crappy location it should be a fairly straight forward swap.

Drain system, remove belt, remove compressor, place new compressor, place new belt, add oil, fill system. Test system.
