I had planned to sell my car and bank the extra money but I'm not sure now.
Here's a pic. It's a 2005.

I hope GM is listening to all of this and thinks long and hard about pricing on the options/finance rates or else I will sadly be moving on from my obsession of the last few years and going elsewhere or buying south of the border - besides by march I would not be surprised whatsoever to see the cad around 90-95 cents American and staying that way for a long time. I'm so disappointed, I really thought gm was doing everything right with this car until now, if it had the same markup as the cts-v I would be all over this car, it's a cold day in Canada :(

LS = 21%
1LT = 17%
2LT = 19%
1SS = 22%
2SS = 23%

Call me crazy, but I just don't know why GM Canada can't be as fair to it's Canadian Consumers like the American GM is to thiers. A 22 - 23% increase in price over the American's for the SS is very high IMO as I was truly hoping for a more reasonable 15% based on the current economy and the value of the Canadian dollar to that of the US, however, I would be interested in knowing that if this car came out a year ago... when the Canadian dollar was worth $1.10 US... do you really think that the American GM would be willing to pay more than the Canadians?? I think not !

I'm having a very hard time justifing as well as to why the American's are only being asked to pay $750 for dest charge and we ( Canadians ) are being told to pay $1,400.. nearly double especially when it is being built here. I had believed at one time the idea behind an average fixed price for destination charges was set forth so that those who lived the furthest away, wouldn't have to pay the brunt of the costs involved to ship it to them. This being said, for example purposes only, why does GM think it's fair that someone living in California ( US ) only has to pay half of what someone living in Ontario ( Canada ) like myself has to pay?? Don't figure!! Sorry, but Canada is not responsible for high gas prices so stop charging us like we are!

That being said... based on the prices I've seen, my hopes of ever owning a new SS are pretty much F'd as of now unless my dealer is willing to negotiate for below MSRP especially since I will have to pay an additional 13% in taxes on the final price. That would easily place an SS in the $45 - $50,000 price bracket which is way too high for my budget. I guess it will be a 2LT for me.

Will have to wait till monday to find out prices of options, but I seriously hope that someone on here posts the dealer invoice prices for Canada like they did for the US buyers. After all, it's only fair! and I'm not fortunate to get the GM employee price either.

as much as i love the camaro, i really wouldnt sell that, i mean that is an 05 911, that is one beautiful car, if your were going to get like a z28 i wouldnt be so shocked but damm, if you want my honest opinion(and i have loved the camaro since i was four and im sure there are others who have loved the camaro since conception) but i wouldnt sell that 911, if it was a boxter then there would be no doubt, lol but with that....wow either way youll have great car...i love the sound of porshes...try to keep both if you can lol

i agree with everyone here, the pricing is kinda unfair, but were used to that, but i mean the added freight charge, is just like getting raped twice. I dont see why the states were first given a price that included the dest.&freight charge, but we, get kinda upset or happy about a price, and then slapped with the HIDDEN FEE, its like taunting a child with chocolate and then saying only if you do your homework, clean the dishes, and your room.
i wish that 1400 was included in the overall price, didnt they figure that we also had higher taxes which can change a persons budget drastically. we'll see monday, or we got 0% interest, but i dont see that happening at launch...(anyone know if that is possible?)

you know what i just realized, that much of us members, for the canadian part, are upset with the pricing, now we're(for the most part) full out enthusiasts who have been following this car since the first talks of its return were buzzing, if we find this kinda steep in terms of pricing, imagine what the average buyer who has the option of choosing between a mustang, chally or camaro would think, i dont think most kids would be worried if their car had a live axel, or if the chally was a fat@$$, it would come down to budget, not everyone is performance minded, we obviously have to or want to choose badly the camaro, but because of certain budgets, are limiting areselves if not detering ourselves from buying our dreamcar, but to an average enthusaist, the camaro would honestly be priced just a little to high.
I wonder what the average buyer really thinks about the Canadian and American pricing.

Body Side Mold.... US $ 100 ... CANADA $ 145 ..... + 31.0%
Red Jewel Paint... US $ 295 ... Canada $ 380 ...... + 22.4%

I'd certainly like to know why GM feels justified in charging us these rediculous prices and then tell us one price has a higher markup over the others???

It should simply be US $ + 10% or 15% max NOT 30+%

I.E.: Sunroof US $900 = Canada $990 @ 10% - $1,035 @ 15%

ALL OPTIONS SHOULD BE AT THE SAME MARKUP TO THE :flag2: MSRP !!!
To quote myself, it sure looks like to me that GM of Canada has used the 2009 Impala pricing as a template for the 2010 Camaro.

2009 Impala: ............... 2010 Camaro:

LS $26,395 ................ LS $26,995
LT $27,895 ................ 1LT $27,995
LTZ $30,395 ............... 2LT $31,595
SS $36,395 ................ 1SS $36,995
..................................2SS $40,995

If this indeed is what GM is up to then come Monday morning expect the options ( like the ones above ) to be priced in the 20 - 35% bracket above US MSRP.

I have been thinking the same thing, a dozen new Camaros assembled in one place then a lengthy tour. I think you would have some heads turning. lol
