The 16th of September is the only date I know of that isn't great for me because of my dad's birthday. Other than that I should be good.

Okay since no one else responded except Hemi, Ted, red I take it it is to far out and no one wants to committ to it. So I think I will reserve Aug 18 which I know is a Thursday but $1750.00 is better than $2500. to be on the hook for. I think I could get at least 10-20 local people to do this from various clubs. So If you want let me know if this date works and if not maybe next year.

Too far out to know for sure, but I would really like to make this work. I mentioned it to my wife yesterday and she was OK with it (thought it might make a nice little trip). Please keep me on your list as "Firm as can be for almost a year from now". : )

If you are going to front the money for the deposit, you might consider making it a "charity event". Fix the cost for the day somewhere where it takes only 20 or so attendees to break even and give any extra to a charity (rather than making the cost a moving target depending on how many come).

This is going to be kind of a selfish post but stick with me here. At 1pm today I was diagnosed with MS (I just turned 30 years old on October 10th). I think this would be a great event for all of us to get together and drive the piss out of our Camaro's and have a lot of fun, and just maybe do a little good for something that effects a lot of people. The good news for me is I was diagnosed very early, and my outlook is very good. Not everybody is as lucky as I am in this situation, so if we're going to go the charity side- I'm kind of hoping we could do the MS thing.

Sorry to hear

Hemi I am sorry that you just got this news. I am all up for a charity event, I do the MDA fill th Boot every year and my kids and I typically do teh MDA camp every year, and don't a problem with doing something for MS. I know a couple of people who suffer from this disease. I can put the cost together for 20 cars and donate any thing over. It just depends on what day is good thats why I did a Thursday to keep the cost down. If we want to make this a go I'm in.

I'm the car club captain for the Pacific North West Camaro Club and looking for GM vehicles to make a new GM race team. We will be racing at Pacific Raceway and Bremerton Raceway Starting around April of next year. We seem to only be able to win third place due to our small number of racer's. So, if you own a GM product and love to drag race let me know. I'll be glad to give you all the info that is required to race car club. Thanks.

Aug 18 2011

Okay I know its a long way out but I am booking the track in Spokane for Aug 18, 2011. I know this is a thursday but since I do not have a bunch of solid commitments this was cheaper for me to front than the fri or a Sat. I will work out the details for a 20 car cost and any over that will be donated to a charity. Approx. total cost is around $3600.00 for the day. so its gonna be around $180.00 per car. This includes EMS, Insurance, Track rental, corner workers, and another cost I am forgetting at the moment but we have to pay as well. I will post up more info later I know this is a ways out but if I don't get interest here I am opening it up to some locals and other car clubs.
This is a road course not a drag day the course is 2.2 miles

$180 for the day is more than acceptable if you ask me. Thanks for looking into this for us!

No problem I will contact either the MS or MDA people in the spring when I have a better idea if we will have any money to donate. It would be nice if we got 25 cars but we'll wait and see. Have a good one and hopefully since you caught the MS early they can help you out.
