I was 15 when my dad and I started looking for a car for me. I really wanted an older camaro, but dad was determined I would have something with an airbag so we were looking at late 80's cars. We found a nice '89 RS with about 20K miles and dad said wanna go for a test drive? YES! (history:dad grew up driving a bad A$$ GTO) so he's driving and I'm riding shotgun. Black marks are left out of the dealership and we hit the highway. About the time we hit 85 two hypos pass in the opposite direction. He drops a gear and blows through 100 to the nearest exit. the 15 year old riding shotgun (me) is crapping his pants! We make it to the back roads and dad turns and looks at me, "Your momma never needs to hear about that, deal?" sure dad. We took the care home and I loved it! This was a side of pops I had never seen and we had a bunch of fun in that car, pulled over by police 64 times in that car and never got a ticket! Traded it in on a new '94 that I drove till having kids. when the concept came out I told my wife that sometime in the next few years I would be taking over her spot in the garage and parking my new camaro in it, she was totally cool with it and in late '09 I did. Can't wait for the memories to be made with my kids in it, but no way are they getting it when they turn 16!

I was heading down a major road here a couple days ago and caught site of an unusual car coming from the opposite way. As I passed him, I saw that it was a Maserati.. and then I saw that he was also staring at me going by!
Also had an encounter with a new Corvette. He flew past me, then, hit the brakes to let me catch up. He then just sat next to me looking over for a bit, before he took off. Permagrin? Hell yeah! |

Strange, I just heard this strange "whooshing" sound just above me accompanied by a giant blast of air. Wonder where that came from.......

Sorry man, but they're leading you on. Not only is the prefix "555" not in use but the number has to end in 4 digits. :p
I'm joking for the humorless...... PS: How is there now ":P" smiley?

Going down a country road sight seeing and an accord was right on my bumper. I waved the guy around and slowed way down. He finally passes but then is weaving and driving slow. I decide to blow past him and get out of there. As I blow past him I realize he's trying to take pics with his cell phone. We found a spot to pull over and ended up b.sing for 20 minutes or so. He toook tons of picks and asked a million questions. He about fell over when I asked to borrow his phone to take his pic in the drivers seat. It really made his day and it made mine too.

That's awesome, man. There's been several times I've been in a restaurant having lunch and then find people taking pics of my car with their phones in the parking lot on my way out. A week hasn't gone by without a stranger commenting on how much they love my car. It doesn't get old!

You are quite right!! but he seemed to forget that at the time However, I used the "well an airbag would sure make a car safer" argument when trying to convince him it was time to borrow some money for the '94! Slightly devious yes, but worth it!
