That can't be right can it?

Could the LS7 equipped Camaro be anything other than a Z28?
If they offered it as an upgraded engine option for the SS for the 2%er's or other n/a diehards, wouldn't that be viable solution too?

I am willing to bet that Chevy had a lot of ls7 inventory left and this is a way to get rid of it. The production numbers for the Z06 has been doing down every year for the last couple of years due to the economy.

If true this would be the coolest way ever to retire the LS7.

More than likely it will be GM's last large displacement gas V8 installed in a passenger car.

Unless something has drastically changed, fbodfather and those with him told me there would be no LS7 5th gen. The only way I see it as a possibility would be a LS7 option for a COPO car.

I'm sure many of us here know that the Z28 was originally a trim, the RPO being Z28. I think the last year for that was 1974. There was no Z28 for 75/76, then the 1977 1/2 Z28 cam out as a model, not a trim (RPO). I'm pretty sure this is correct.

That's an understatement. the LS4 is the sideways front wheel drive V8 in the SS Impala. 5.3 303 HP

Didn't realize so many people on this forum are just now hearing about what an LS7 IS!!!!!

Oh buddy...I WOULD trade my very well loved Camaro for that exact combo right there. Time to start saving for the 2014 MY Camaro.

It's a no no. But heads, cam, headers, intake can get you 550 - 600 RWHP (Mainly depending on the cam). Just need to watch out for the valve guide issues. I'm putting aftermarket heads w/ solid SS exhaust valves on mine this winter.

A 1LE + LS7 would be one bad ass Camaro.
