I'm convinced the slowest cars in America are...

....Corvettes!

They're coming out in droves for the spring weather and I've yet to see one going over 62 in a 65. Monday, Tuesday, and today I've seen 'vettes in the left lane going slower than the posted speed limit with a line behind them. You will not get a ticket for going 66 on the Freeway- I swear!

Haha, I know what you mean, around my area it's nearly impossible to pass anyone just going through the city because people have been driving abnormally slow. Even the highways have been troublesome for me because people have been driving slower than the posted speed. weird...

I've only seen one Ford GT on the road since it was in production. Had an elderly couple in it driving 30 MPH in a 40 zone, and slowed to 25MPH for a bend in the road.

Used to see this old man in a bright red Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 that always drove AT LEAST 10-15 MPH under the speed limit.

Maybe he was the one in the GT!

This is how that went in my mind...

"slowest cars in America are....click.....CORVETTES!!!!!!!!" Outrage! *I continue to read* oh...*still reading* oh I See.. Well then.

LOL, yeah. I know what you mean. But with the insurance they are paying and the attraction they receive you can't blame them for driving slow. It's like they have a target on them all the time.

LOL- I drive a bright red Cobalt SS/TC. I have cops sprint out of dunkin' donuts to drive behind me for a while. It's OK baby-boomers, press that go-pedal

And I'm not really trolling- just having some fun.

I think it has to do with the age of the drivers more than the corvette. I love my home state of Florida, but I hate the tourists and snowbirds that come down here and drive 35mph in the left lane. Its like there in their own little world and don't care about anyone else on the road. I swear, we need a lane just for them. Thank God they're leaving now.

I always do the speed limit in my Vette, maybe 5 over...but cops here LOVE to pull over "high profile" vehicles. Besides, usually its older guys with the newer Vettes, and most people just are respectful of their cars. Got em as Vettes, not as super fast cars

Yeah, it's not that often I see a Vette actually being driven fast. I certainly drive in a more sporty manner than a lot of the Vettes I see.

I drove to Florida a couple of summers ago, and I truly believed that if I'd never seen another car before, I'd have come away from the trip thinking the Lexus RX SUVs were the fastest cars ever made. It was a 15 hour drive, and I had one fly by me at warp speed about every 20 minutes, and I wasn't necessarily poking along.

For the Price you pay for them... (figure most are $70k +) I'd drive it a lil slow too.

A. its a lot of invested money on wheels.
B. your a target for a lot of cops.
C. people drive like idiots anyways...
