i would guess around 3K for the engine mod deal. +/- 500. but, thats a WAG. (wild-azz guesstimate).
To the OP's point, YES! I would say that there will be many, many performance goodies that will be available. The CF hood is prolly already being put into CAD and getting test-runs as we speak (not kidding)! Of course, they would need to mic an exact production hood first to get it right. The easy targets are the hood and trunk lid. the fenders, with their "jigsaw" fit into the body, may be much harder to match up. Beyond that, add lighter brake rotors and calipers (maybe) -- custom lightweight wheels (if they use runflat sensors, that throws some engineering expertise into the mix). This would prolly be the easiest targets, and you might shed around 150-250 lbs just with those. Maybe?

why wouldnt yall go with an aftermarket cam? You would prolly get wayyy more power than that hot cam. Im prolly getting an LG motorsports cam, they already have an amazing cam they are using in 08 vettes. And they have them making over 500 RWHP

The answer is yes
All aftermarket internal engine parts for the LS3 have been developed. As long as direct injection isn't on it, programmers will be able to compensate for cams, heads, compression, blower. 450 wheel horsepower very streetable naturally aspirated, 500 with a bit of racket, and blowers at 600whp with a stock engine. If direct injection is on it, we can expect the same tuning headaches that we're having with the Solstice GXP.

the weight difference between a cf hood and an aluminum hood is not that much.(at least on the srt8) I rather spend the $1000 plus dollars on other mods then waste it on cf. Also remember if you don't paint cf after being in the sun for a long time it starts to get yellow even with the gel coating..

Does anyone know how boost friendly that hotcam is? I want to get as close to 500 whp as possible while maintaining my warranty. Once it's out of warranty I will boost it.

It's not really all that big and doesn't have to be...should be a good match for a supercharger.

The Hot cam should be very boost friendly. But I recomend the GM ASA cam.
It's specs are nearly identical but it has a tad more duration. This cam bumped the LS3 to 515hp when GM installed it with a carb intake. 515hp crate engine# 19171225 ASA cam# 12480110-duration goes from 219/228 to 226/236 and lobe seperation goes from 112 to 110. LS stage 2 cam# 88958722-this ones seems like it would be pretty lopey 227/239 duration and 551/551 lift(oh and it only has a 108 lobe sep) Last edited by Robert91RS; 07-23-2008 at 09:05 AM.
