I got a belated birthday present - From my deceased Grandfather.
It's a long story, me and him. He died when I was only about 5 or 6 but from what I remember I can honestly say him and my father were the ones that got me into cars. My mom keeps telling me over and over of the days he'd bring home Novas, Mustangs, other cars to find the right one for her..
And she chose a Camaro.  The man worked at the Lorain Ford assembly plant for who knows how long; so his owning a black on black GTO was sort of an odd thing but I knew it sounded so familiar. Because they say I take after him so much with my love of cars and hatred of the dreaded Taioduh (Toyota). When they first came ashore, he was to say the least appalled at them much in the same why you see Fen here today. He refused to call them "Toy-Oh-Tah" and called them "Tai-Oh-Duhs" instead. And on March 15th something arrived on my doorstep. From his address (and my Grandmothers who outlives him today). I opened the box and found something I regret getting for a present out of respect for him.     I got his Diecast 1:24th scale Franklin Mint 1957 Ford Skyliner. The one I remember him (and my grandmother) yelling at me "DON'T TOUCH THAT MIKE!" thinking at the time it was just another toy car. It honestly brought tears to my eyes when I realized just what the yellowed box was.. and makes me wish he were around to see what we have today. He'd be impressed with Ford, GM and Chrysler; and laughing his ass off at Toyota. Just like me.

thats awesome! i think i would have been emotional too... but my father and his father usually destroyed cars not built them, lol..
