options you must get
just trying to figure out the options that i want when i order my 2012 camaro 2ss. would be interested to know what other options are necessary and what are not. for instance, i know the subwoofer option is probably worthless. but the hurst short throw might not be...all opinions are welcome!

Same here. The Hurst and RS makes a nice package. I get a lot of comments about the Hurst shifter. That's in part because I have a Hurst badge on the trunk. Anyone who knows about performance cars says Wow about the shifter.
I'm not sure if this is an option, but if possible upgrade the floor mats. Mine came with the plain ones and it was the first thing I changed out. I ordered the GM Camaro mats. One last thing is protecting the paint as soon as possible. It's a little on the weak side. Some folks are recommending a clear bra. At least get a very good coat of wax on as soon as possible.

At least a 1SS and a USB package, the rest is just bling.

2SS, don't know about the Hurst since the throw is not as short as the aftermarket one.

RS & Sunroof (that is, unless you need the extra few inches of headroom)

The two options I'm really glad I got on mine are:
The RS package - This gives you the HID/halo lights and makes your fogs the DRL's, It makes the roof ditch molding the color of the car instead of black. It gives you 20" Midnight Silver rims w/ Pirelli PZero(summer only) tires. It makes the brake lights a darker red. If ordering an LT it also adds a spoiler. It also gives you a red RS badge or if you are ordering and SS it changes the SS color from white to red. PDIM - a.k.a, the Convenience package. This gives you steering wheel controls, bluetooth, and a USB port for a flash drive or MP3 player(you will still have an accessory port without this, but it won't charge your MP3 player and you can't control it from the radio controls). This is a standard option on the 2LT and 2SS. I like the 3 piece ducktail spoiler. It wasn't an option yet when I got my car, but I think I'm going to order one. I also like the aftermarket shifters better than the Hurst offered from the factory, so I'd skip that option and go aftermarket. Barton is my choice, but there are other good options as well.
