Thumbs up MRT 1.0 installed

Installed my MRT v 1.0 yesterday and thought I would share my take on it. While I had the mufflers off I was curious to see what the camaro would sound like and was surprised to see that it wasn't THAT loud and still had somewhat of a smooth exhaust note. Ran into a few bumps while doing the install but after 2 hours the job was done. It looks great and as for the sound, it is a bit louder than I was going for. I was afraid the v 2.0 would be too quiet but I probably would have been perfect. For those of you driving yourself crazy as I was deciding which version to buy, I would like to let you know that v 1.0 is loud. The note does sound great, and I would have loved it when I was about 21 years old but I have myself wishing I would have bought 2.0. The note is very unique on the v6 engine. One last thought, it does sound great, but It feels a bit like I'm driving a 350z with open exhaust. Overall. I am satisfied with my purchase. MRT sells a great axle back. I will post pics and videos soon.

Yeah, it is so very tough to get an accurate feel for any exhaust system without actually being there and going for a ride... You can get a good guess as to what it will be like, but you really need to experience it... which unfortunately isn't always possible.

As for the sound with the mufflers cut off.. yep... sounds great on start up and idle.. even rev wasn't too bad... but take it out on the road and get on the gas... not so good.... IMHO...

If you find Ver 1 is simply too much, i'm thinking perhaps you might find a Ver 2 owner who thinks they should have gone with Ver 1... ???

this thread makes me worry about my choice being set on mrt v1. The older videos that scrming posted were what set my mind on the v1.

Is the ver 1 higher in PITCH all around than the ver 2 or is it just higher in VOLUME?

Cause I want loud, I just want a low pitched note as well.

As i've said before,

V1 = 18-30
V2 = 31+

Just imo.

Congrats on the purchase. I love mine.

That is definitely an option.

And for the other post, I heard v2 is lower in tone as well. V1 is low in tone at low rpms. It may help me save gas because now I drive much more reserved to get the sound I want from my tailpipes.

Lol, correct. Should have added that to my post.

OP: if you dont really like them dont beat your head over it. With time and breaking in they will mellow down a lot and you will rarely hear the drone from inside the cabin as much as you do now. Mine are a lot quiter from inside but also got a deeper rumble from the outside. Idle and when you give it gas.

If you want loud and be heard all the time like i do then V1 is a must, but if u want to be noticed only when you push the pedal to the medal then v2 is ur best bet. Dont get it twisted now, v2 is loud also.
