Yeah, not sure anyone had a good explanation on why it worked on those other cars. Had my 6 that way for several years though and no trouble.

Try this... When you expect to down shift like you said from 4th to 2nd at 50MPH...When you press the clutch in while going to 2nd... Rev match the motor to about 4500rpm(I blip the throttle twice to that point) so when you let the clutch out in 2nd it will be at say 4500 rpms...... Instead of going from 2500 to 4500rpm with the clutch only.. so its a smoother transition for the motor lol that make sense

I dont have the lag when I do that but i know exactly what your talking about

I know I have told myself to do that before and I know I still screw it up sometimes. It is better for the engine/clutch/tranny that way anyways. I will try that a few times and see if this helps me out. Thanks!

Just double clutch it and you should not have this problem.

Agree, that is why its always been done. The back pressure in the cylinders is causing phase back when you accelerate. When you double clutch, you are forcing the back pressure out the exhaust. However, it should not be a problem if the throttle position sensor settings are correct in the computer. One other point, if you are going from forth the second for speed, you would not want the RPM to reduce anyway.

I experience it too, and I think it is torque management, because once I get to 3000RPM, the thing takes off! It's that way when launching from a stop too, need to have the RPMs above 3k to have any power.
