Second... the convertible has one because ITS MISSING THE ROOF SUPPORT.

The ZL1 likely doesn't "NEED" one but damn it looks cool!

Lets not get caught up in need -vs- want. I bet the car doesnt "need" a spoiler either but it looks better with...

They also put on heavy ass 20in wheels, spongey springs, WAY too small sways, thin endlinks, weak TA's, heat trapping engine cover, and fake front cold air inlet.

What's your point?

Though probably difficult if not impossible to do without a lot of surgery, I'd like to see a strut brace that triangulates and mounts to the firewall as well as the strut towers. Now that would make the front clip very, very resistant to torsional forces.

Well guys I am chalking this one upto the garage/shop that tried the install. I will be taking my car to the dealer tomorrow to see if they can do the job. If not, i will send it back for a replacement.

Glad to see BMR step up on this thread. I have heard nothing but good things about them and seeing how they respond confirms what I have heard.

BTW, it is a two point brace and I have a 2011 2SS.

I may have to take a look at picking up the heritage grill while I am at the dealer tomorrow!!!

I will keep you all posted and appreciate the feedback!

My BMR brace also doesn't fully line up. One side is near spot on, but the other is a few MM off, like it's just a hair too narrow. No biggie for me, still bolts up tight, and I'm the only one thats gonna really notice.

Camaro-2,

Your profile says that you have a 2011 Camaro. If it was built starting in January 2011, it's possible that you got the new designed front strut towers.

I talked with my contact at GM today about this and it may apply. The Convertible required newly designed front strut towers and the 2011I (Interum - started production in January) Coupe is now getting the same towers. The convertibles will all come with the strut tower brace.

On the subject of strut tower braces, the coupes can definitely benefit from the strut tower brace if you're going to drive the car hard...like most of you here will. If you're going to drive like an old lady, don't worry about getting a brace.

We don't drive like old ladies and don't have a strut tower bar, need or want one. We run faster than the Pro Touring cars. We run faster than a CTS-V race car running slicks. We pull 1.4 Gs on street tires. We do it all without a single chassis brace on factory arms.

Pedders manufactures four chassis braces for the Mustang. We don't make a single brace for the Camaro. We'll let the numbers and videos speak for themselves.

Hmmm mines a 2011 but it was built in 2010 bought it in August of 2010 I paid 189.00 for my brace and installed it myself in about an hour, I'm sorry to hear your having problems with it perhaps if you could post some pix and tell us how and where it doesn't fit maybe we can help you.
