Next weekend I am taking the car down off the blocks and setting up and appointment for the exhaust. Been a long winter.

I just ordered my CAI system in black a few minutes ago....super stoked for that to come in and I bought the ADM scoop as well it was $424 for both from Maryland speed with free shipping. A very good price for both items. I may get with you Jason about doing the scoop when it comes in..or at least get a close look at yours!

Now I will say this as a disclaimer, I was one of the very first people to have the Vararam for the V6 crowd. They have gone through a few revisions since then. I sent the Vararam back and then bought a Roto-Fab intake. I really liked it (I still have it and kind of want to see if Roto-Fab will send me every thing I need to change it over to the V8). The fit and finish was awesome. Now I have the CAI, Inc. intake and when I first put it on I could tell a difference. Better mileage and a boost in performance. I have since then coupled that with a VMax Ported TB and the ADM race scoop and I am thoroughly impressed with the overall feel of the car. Very quick throttle response, much like my V6 was. I am almost back to the same spot I was with it. (Just 100+ more horses under the hood) Anyway, it is my understanding that with the V8 intakes they are all within 5 hp, so it is really just a matter of personal preference in appearance.
I am thinking of the VMAX TB... I would really like to understand how much of a difference that part really makes. Is it really about 10+ HP gain? If so that is good bang for the buck.

Looking good tim. I know I need to get out to the garage on my next day off and do some under carriage cleaning too.

HRD_WRK Tim, thats quite a Sunday project you are doing!

I have been "Easter Sunday Camaro Detailing" Since car was all clay bar ready, prep for next steps.

I brought my laptop into the garage, re-watched the Adam's video's online on how to machine polish to remove swirls and such -which was three steps, now I have machine sealed, soon to hand wipe the car ...said to wait 30 minutes for the sealant to dry

Then next weekend (or some night after work if not too tired) apply the glaze which said to add the "pop" or depth to the paint. Then the wax.

-my lower back is screaming!

So I am looking at tuning the car here fairly soon and now I am having second thoughts. I know JRE does great work, but I don't know how I feel about a canned tune. I like the idea of dyno tune so that can make sure I am not running lean (which is a concern of mine). However, I like the idea of having the handheld SCT so I can change it back to stock if I take it into the dealership. Any advice? Also, if I were to leave the tune in the car and bring it to the dealership would the dealership have the ability to reset my tune back to stock?

Man you got a killer deal! Yeah hit me up anytime. My number is in a photo in the "Contact Info" album on here. I would be glad to help you out.

The TB is pretty good with throttle response. If someone were to post a dyno graph for it, you would see that peak gains aren't that impressive. Maybe 6hp at the most, but if you look throughout the entire curve it is a little higher around/up to 10hp in most places.

JB specialties Sub Enclosure

I built the sub enclosure this past weekend. It is a tight fit trying to get it into place and facing the proper direction. I will be getting the carpet and glue this week to finish it up and then do the install. Here is a picture of it in the car.

Just picked up my car from Willis and man they did a really good job with the XPel install. I would highly recommend them for your cars! The Xpel looks, or should I say you can't see it, thats the best part of all. This stuff is pretty thick and has some self healing properties with a heat gun or the sun. Talk to Walker Robinette, he's your man.

Stopped in to CVSi here in Cedar Falls. I picked up some carpet adhesive and a 3'x9' roll of charcoal carpet. After this weekend I will be thumping again.

I inquired about tint while I was there too. Not a bad price. What do you guys think would be a good percentage? I don't want to give THEM anymore reason to pull me over but I do want the tint to be noticeable and functional.
