2014 Camaro Key Fob?

My question stems from a new key fob for the new Chevy SS

I quote:
"Intelligent key fob
Allowing for passive entry and a push-button start that makes beginning your drive effortless, the intelligent key fob is as simple as opening the door, pushing the ignition button and finding your road. Alternatively, you can use the remote start feature from up to 300 feet away."

I know we are not getting a push button start from in the car, but what about this passive entry to the car stuff?

I don't know, but I rented an Altima in 2005 and it had push button start, so I was a little disappointed my car didn't have it. Hopefully all Chevy's will going forward.

If it doesn't come with a push button start, I doubt it will come with the passive entry. My sisters '12 Charger had push button and the passive entry, and it was pretty cool. I'm sure we'll be seeing it more and more in the coming years.

Corvettes had passive keyless for years you walk up to the car the car detects the fob in your pocket (or purse if your a woman) and lets you in the car and when you walk away and no longer detects the fob it locks up and arms the alarm.

I had a 2005 Altima SER and it did not have push start button, nor did my 2007 350Z. However my 2010 Maxima had it plus the passive system. It was really awesome to not having to take the key out of your pocket to turn the car on or even get in. I miss that with my Camaro. Sometimes I try to get out of the car and I forget I have the key in. I just need to get used to it again.

My 2007 Altima had it and it is the only thing I miss from that car. In the 2007 it did not automatically lock or unlock as the corvettes do, which would be even more cool.

Also wont allow you to lock the keys inside. And if the car is started then gets too far from the key. ( get carjacked with key in your pocket) it will shut off

Call me crazy, but on a Cadillac or Acura or what have you, the keyless entry is awesome, even on the SS. But when I get in to my camaro I feel extreme masculine, and turning the key and feeling and hearing that beast under the hood is an awesome and masculine feeling...

Not true at all. It will run forever unless you turn it off. It needs the key to start but that's it. It wouldn't be a good idea for a car to shut off in the middle of a left hand turn...

I won't own a car without it anymore. It's so convenient to never have to touch a key. Another way GM is behind the times. Even Kia has keyless start. Lol.

Actually very much true, depending on the system I guess. Had my friends mom try to drive off when her husband still had the key fob. She got to the end of the driveway and it shut off because he was still in the house. It wouldn't shut off while moving though, only once she stopped at the end of the driveway. Can't remember what kinda car it was, but the keyless system in it would check for the key everytime the car stopped moving and shut off if it was no longer in range.

We want this, we want that, we want this, we want that, and oh yeah, we want it to start at 25,000... I thought we were buying a muscle car, not an old man Buick?
