2010 LT1 or LT2 Transmition?

I was going to trade in my car for the cash for clunkers program and was told the 2010 V6 (Automatic) Camaro qualifies.

My questions is, do the Automatic's come with the paddle shifters or is that an option you have to choose?

All automatics come standard with the paddle shifters.

Sorry to be technical - the TapShift isn't a "paddle shifter" - the "-" left side and "+" right side are flags to indicate the left down-shift button and right up-shift button beneath the flags on the back of the steering wheel.

My Grand Prix GTP had true paddle shifters which could be pressed forward for an up-shift and pulled back for a down-shift.

Haha, ya but this is the only option i can get that qualifies for the cash for clunkers program... unless someone wants to buy my 1989 Ford Bronco with 241,000 miles on it for $4,500

OK - just wanted to be sure you realized the -/+ flags weren't the means to down-shift/up-shift, they only point the way to the buttons on the back of the steering wheel. I prefer the true paddle shifters as you don't have to think left/right side of steering wheel.

As for "the only option" to qualify for "cash for clunkers" I assume the EPA mileage of the Automatic enables qualification for the $4,500, otherwise you'd probably qualify for $3,500 comparing the Bronco to a manual...

Good luck nonetheless...

You can't get a 2010 camaro m6 with the cash for clunkers. The MPG has to be 22 and only the auto qualifies. (manual is 21 MPG)

If you can't find one on a lot, or a dealer with an allocation time may not be on your side.... I think this whole program only has about another six weeks left in it before money is gone. I don't see the government going another round after this last one. ..... But never say never !!!

Sorry your dealer is either misinformed or lied to you. The minimum requirements for CARS (cash for clunker) is 22 MPG for a passenger automobile. The v6 auto gets 22 MPG and the v6 manual gets 21 MPG so it doesn't qualify no matter what your dealer told you.

You can check here if you want: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/findacar.htm

Or if you want the official site go here and put in your trade in then select manual 2010 camaro and it will tell you it doesn't qualify. http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/CarsSearchIntro.shtml

Sorry man.

Once more word of caution... a coworker told me that buried in that pile of papers that you signed for the rebate is an agreement that if the transaction was rejected by the program that you agree to reimburse the dealer for the rebate. I can'tr confirm it's really true but someone with the paperwork might be able to confirm.

I did the deal before the regulations even came out on the 24th. So that is why I researched the crap out of this to make sure everything would be fine with me and their were no loopholes.

On the official site they have this:

Quote:
To participate in the CARS program, you do not have to sign an agreement to pay back the dealer the CARS credit amount if the deal is rejected.
So everyone make sure you READ EVERYTHING YOU SIGN
