How much faster do you guys think the new GT500 will be then the ZL1?
Will we be disappointed spending all that money on the ZL1 only to have the GT500 rain on it's parade?

For starters you are assuming the ZL1 will cost much more than a GT500, I seriously doubt this will be the case.
BUT The 2013 GT500 has been confirmed to have an 5.8L engine and more than likely 620+ HP
That being the case, if the ZL1 IS over priced, many people INCLUDING ME, will be buying a GT500 that has at the very least 40 MORE HP From the factory.

I don't get it...so you just buying a car just because it is "faster" than a specific car? Buy a car because you want/like the car, regardless of what the other car is doing.

I agree. And, its only 40hp. Come one theres people on here with 800hp, that could smoke that mustang. Buy the car you like because its the car you like. 40hp is not hard to gain.

With all the ZL1 has going for it, it is gonna take more than a 5.8 and 620 hp to be up to par with it..........

It doesn't really matter now does it?
Things will always swing back and forth. Every time a Camaro comes out with X horsepower, the next Mustang will have X +.
Every time a Mustang up's it's horsepower, the next Camaro will have a bit more, etc, etc, etc.
No matter what you buy, the next year there will be something faster/better.

Don't worry about it. buy it, enjoy it.

The point I am making is that IF the ZL1 is 8-10K above the price of the 2013 GT500, that is about the price of a Whipple SuperCharger. Go to Lethal Performance and check it out. 900RWHP will be pretty easy with the bigger displacement. Meaning that for the price of a 60K ZL1 there could possibly be a 60K GT500 making you SECOND DOG.

Then be prepared to go somewhere else. Because somebody, somewhere with more money will build their car to go faster than you. There are 1000+ HP cars roaming the streets, do you really think you can beat them all?

i agree...there's ALWAYS going to be a faster car out there. Buy the one you like better.
