18x8.5 front w/ 265/50-18 Nitto NT555 tire
18x10.0 rear w/ 305/45-18 Mickey Thomspon ET Street II drag radial

Should be good enough for 9-second cars.

Tony

Ate you looking for track wheels or daily wheels? If daily, go with the 18x8.5 18 10 wheels like Tony recommends. If looking for track wheels I suggest some Welds.

Here's mine. 17x5 with 28" front runners and 17x10 with 325/45 drag radials. The rear wheels are bigger than I would like, but I got a killer deal on the wheels and that's what they came with.

I agree with the above posts....if you're looking for a more "streetable" set-up, go with the 18's. TSW and Forgestar both have some good options. The only mod required would be getting rid of the "rollerskates" on the front brake pads and re-positioning your rear emergency brake cables.

If you want a more "serious" drag set-up, you can go with a select few 17" wheels that will fit over the Brembo Brakes (Weld, CCW, and Bogarts). The Welds have been known to rub on the lower control arms, and may require aftermarket LCA's or a modification of the stock LCA's. The others seem to fit without any further mods other than what is mentioned above. But the 17" set-ups can get pretty expensive!!!

Can you tell a huge difference with the drag radial and the small tire. We dont have the greatest track here so cant really tell fr an unpreped track

Are you compromising ET at the track by lowering the car 1.5" or you have no issues hooking? Thanks in advance, I want to lower my car and put 18"s but I don't want to lower it if it's going to affect my ET....sorry for the thread jack....

I might be leaving a little on the table, but this is my daily first and track car second. Since I am on 18" wheels with 27" tires, lowering was a MUST to get rid of the huge wheel gap.

Also, I haven't been able to get a decent 60 ft out of my car because of the stock gearing and 4,350 lb race weight. I finally got a 9" rear with 4.57 gears so I'm expecting a HUGE drop in my 60 next time I go to the track. But I have no clue when that will be with a 5 month old and a 1 1/2 year old at home. Last time I went was just over a year ago.
