I've also contemplated a 427 build, you're running more rwhp than a friend's '14 Shelby GT 500.

Ive been researching 418 and 427 builds as Im looking to start one real soon. Im pricing around $9k just in parts, using your existing block. Im going to buy an L92 and use that block to be machined so my LS3 will stay stock on a stand. Those go for about $3k. I would assume about $1k for machining. Then if youre going to have someone build it, add a shit load more for labor. I would put it around $12k just for the engine, and $4k for someone to build it and install it.

Yes, having a ZL1 pump and ADM controller would be a nice upgrade also.

If you want a short block built in the DFW area, Kim Barr is THE MAN.
Have him build your short block and another shop build/setup/tune the rest.

Blasphemy! Build your own short block motor (minus cam bearings and camshaft) - it's a satisfaction you can't get any other way.

5 figures. It's got LOTS of high end forged steel/aluminum parts in there. How cool would it be to have a NA motor that puts up numbers like that? That's big league stuff...and it will last.
