Hey now, don't be disapointed in the th-400, those were hell of an automatic. Have one in my 1969 buick LeSabre 400, runs nicely. However, i do understand the fun factor of the manuel.

But as spike said...BUY IT! Sounds like a hell of a deal.. Good luck.

I don't mind that its auto, my gf knows how to drive stick, but hates it, so she wont mind it either. and if i really wanted to, i'm sure i could get a 6-speed stick to put in there. it's a lot of work, but it would be worth it.
I cant wait to drive it.

P.S. Thankx spike. i kinda needed a kick in the @ss to get me going.
its not terminally damaged. there is a lot of bondo work that has been done to the car that will need to be replaced.

why wouldnt that be ok? granted a 4bbl might allow a little more fuel/air in. it could also flood it out.

but for some panels and other body stuff... check out these guys.

i'm planning on getting it sandblasted, and fixing the body panels. It's gonna look like a chump for a while, but i don't care.

also thinking about gatting ahold of my cousin, and buying the 650cfm holley 4 barrel fuel injected carbuerater that he has. it has a computer control unit to regulate it, you can change the fuel/air mix, and how aggressive it makes the engine... he said he wanted 100 bucks for it last year.

Check out the floors and trunk for rust. That would be a big deal if it was rusted out. Bad rust costs more to fix than the car will ever be worth.

If it the floors/trunk check out OK then otherwise it looks like a nice project.

haven't bought it yet... the only thing keeping me from it is time, (waiting for my tax return) but i have pointed a camera at the under side of it. I'm too big to crawl under anything but trucks. (I'm not fat, i have a huge ribcage, and it makes crawling under things kinda hard...) all the rust that I've seen is just surface rust. and I think the trunk is in good shape. (I'll get the key and open it up next time i'm up there.)

If this doesn't work out, I know where there is a 78 camaro for sale, for 1500.
