ZL1 is the name, Z28 is a story for a different day

Was the exact words of the GM rep from our dealer training

Of course they are going to build one.... They haven't even finished the ZL1

It's coming... I bet within a 2-3 years or so we start hearing rumblings and start seeing strange camoed up Camaro's with Michigan manufacturer plates testing in Arizona and at the Nurburgring

Keep the faith!

Team Camaro has much more to give us

i think you will see the Z28 announced before 2012.for now just enjoy the ZL1.GM doesn't want to put too much on the plate too soon.

I think we'll see something Z28-related about 12-months from now. I know I want it back though!

Question for those of you with more knowledge of what GM could/would do:

So.. I am thinking I can't afford the ZL1 when it comes out or probably for a few years after, and I kinda want something a little better then an SS. If they do the Z28 do you guys think it'll be the middle ground between the two?

If they do a Z28...I've got money on it being a direct competitor to the Boss Mustang...a stripped, track/handling car with marginal power increases. An unbelievable racer...with compromises to get there...like the original Z28.

For those of you that chose not to buy a ZL1 (1 year away) and wait for a Z28 (2 years away) what happens if it is a lighter car but has a less horsepower engine (example: 510 HP DI engine vs the 556HP LSA engine)?

Well my guess is you'll have a great car that MIGHT be as fast as a ZL1, but not better, but you will sacrifice day to day comforts and ride pleasure. If it's on the new Alpha platform there could be some increased elbow and headroom issues. You can't lose either way unless you wait and the grim reaper ges you first.

I agree that we should hear something by the end of the year or early next year about a Z/28. IF GM plans to use allready developed parts for the ZL1 R&D does not take that long. We see this with the Grand Sport Corvette that uses Z06 goodies. Expecially if they want to steal some of that BOSS spot light they shouldn't sit on their hands too long.
