Side "gills" on my SS paint or decals?

OK, can't decide which way to go. My SIM SS has painted black rallys and I want to do the side gills. Which way should I go? Have them painted in as well or just buy a vinyl kit? My car has to go to the paint shop anyway to correct a problem with the clear coat on the hood. I am sure the decals would be alot less expensive and less chance of anything going wrong. Thoughts?

I vote decals because you can remove them if you decide later that you don't like them anymore.
