I think you are confusing "shopping" with "boycotting".

This thing should be costing 150-200 max!

To give perspective, you could get this same thing done at a custom exhaust shop for probably less than that (and that includes labor).

Well I don't know about 150-200 max, that's too low.
BUT...
What I don't like :
#1 Their price is much more then a better made MAGNAFLOW system of the SAME type. MAIN REASON is they DON"T want to Discount it much......only 10%...........
You can get a Magnaflow system @ a MUCH LARGER DISCOUNT than 10%
#2 The way it is made on a AXLE-BACK system : Magnaflow has 6 hangers that are SHAPED (To help keep them in place) like the orig. ones. SLP are just straight rods, AND they have only 2 hangers............
Also Magnaflows Mufflers are welded to all pipes (more labor) should cost more.
PLUS magnaflow gives you much more pipes ( should cost more also) Their Axle-back goes in front of the axle (Like it or not) You get MUCH more SS pipe for your money.

Don't get me wrong the SLP system is good BUT it should cost LESS than the Magnaflow.

At their price I feel you are getting taken advantage of !!

LESS LABOR, LESS MATERIAL (Pipes & HANGERS)....BUT MORE COST........Makes no sense !

.........IT should cost LESS than the Magnaflows NOT MORE, SLP cost APP. $150.+ more for a same type Axle-Back system.............( with Discounts that ARE now avail. )
