Car Insurance? Wow!

I just called our insurance (USAA) to get it set up for our relocation from Massachusetts to Texas in 2 weeks... and it's going to double.

I was shocked. I was always under the believe the lone star state had less expensive insurance :-s

Oh well, pay to play

Shop around...

Mine is with Geico and dropped a few dollars when I switched from my F-150 Supercrew to the Camaro. I'd hit up Geico and Progressive for quotes, then go back to USAA to match or beat the lowest if you are set on staying with them.

Don't just take what they say they can give you! Compare Compare and Compare!

USAA wanted $124 a month, Progressive $223, had to jump ship to Gieco for $74. It was $53 until they ran my vin and saw it was a 2SS, but I'll still take it! I paid $69 a month for my V-6 Magnum...wierd.

We use Travelers and my car insurance went down when I traded in my 2007 Accord for a 2010 Camaro!

Definitely shop around. When I relocated from WA to TX, my rates doubled with Nationwide. A bit checking and I cut them in half by going with Progressive. Moved again (20 miles away) and rates shot up 20% due to new county/zip. Shopped around again and went with Geico this time and my current rates are back down to the same levels I was paying Nationwide in WA.

With state farm in San Antonio, went up $4 a month over our 06 TL. Close to $60 a month. Low deductable, 100k/300k coverage.

Yeah, a clean one with no moving violations or accidents. Must be right there

We're paying like 1300/yr right now for my 2SS and my wife's SUV... so it's not too bad... but MA doesn't require a lot of things like Bodily Injury, etc. Since Texas does, it's forcing us to add those onto our rate.
