If you want to DIY your own CAI, at least go to the plumbing section and get PVC pipe and use the different curves to fab your own.

I had done that on my '05 grand Cherokee and it worked well.
well that whole system was a kit i had got from pep boys, it came with the hose. and turbulance? what do you mean? i had fabbed the boxes and put the filters on myself but since its been on the engine it has been running way better. and i dont think the pvc pipe would look as good lol its to bulky haha

Guess he never saw a 64 Ford Thunderbolt. Those flex hoses have been used for many decades and were inexpensive and worked well.

I drove it to DFW only to run into a rainstorm and get it dirty... oh well, the grass cutting can wait in the morning till she's clean.

What he meant by turbulence was the ribbed inner surface disrupts the airflow causing turbulence, but the benefits of the cooler air has a greater benefit for your car than the stock setup. If you were to switch to a smoother pipe you may get more benefit, but if you are happy with your results that is all that really matters.

Washed it, hubby called me in for dinner... came back out to wipe it down but ended up with some water spots so I guess I will have to break out the PC7424xp and the polish now. Working - it's cutting into my detailing time.
