Nice, that should actually save a lot of door dings, they should be standard. I rather be parked next to a ford with that system.

In a time where very little ingenuity is seen...it is refreshing to see something like this. Good Job Ford.

Now to give it a cool name like Edge-o-Matic or Futura-Guard Protection...
or Un-Focus-ed Idiot Opening Door Into Your Pride and Joy without Care System.

I just got my first door ding this weekend. A nasty one right on the crease on my fender.

seems like a decent idea, but there aren't any parts of that video that show the other car and if it had any dings or scratches afterward. it seems like this is more of a protective piece for the Ford's paint than the other person's car. and like my dad always says "its just another thing that can break", and if it does break it doesn't look like the door will shut with it extended.

honestly, why not just go buy that little black rubber strip door edge guard from walmart or an auto parts store and get the same results, if not better. it wont break and it's way cheaper to replace if it gets worn out.

i guess what im getting at is it's a good idea, but there are simpler ways of getting the job done.
