That press conference was depressing!

http://money.cnn.com/2009/05/14/news...ion=2009051416

GM is due soon to start notifying dealers of plan to cut 42% of network. Metro-area and suburban dealers to feel the deepest hit.

I am truly starting to lose the faith man, Just create the freaking preorders!

I read a license plate cover today on a mustang that said "The Muscle car that NEVER LEFT!" I really really dont want to see GM or the Camaro fail! I preordered the car I love the car but I dont want a car is the company goes under and I can't get parts for her as she starts to break down.

This is some fears that I have. Slap me straight if i'm wrong!

I don't believe you have anything to worry about get your Camaro and have fun, just like when I bought my 02SS and knew the car was discontinued I didn't even think about it and the only things that went bad were battery and waterpump

It's sad to hear that 1200 dealerships might have to close especially because it will put that many more people out of work. I just wonder what happens to your order if your dealership is one that closes. Can you still get it or move the order to another dealership?

As far as worrying about replacement parts, that will not go away any time soon. I think they (GM) have an obligation to supply parts for a certain amount of time and the goverment would also step in and honor warranties etc... At least I think they will!

Vole182,
The Mustang did leave in some fashion...think back to the late 70's and early 80's when they removed the pony from the car and made the hatchback. That to really wasn't a "muscle car", so just keep the faith and believe...we will all get are cars and GM will survive. Of course this is IMHO...Things are tough now, but they will get better.

The Mustang has never been a musclecar.

I am a big fan of GM and I love there cars I have 3 Chevy cars. but I think if they would have released the camaro a year ago instead of teasing everyone and taking to long to make the car. and not bring the camaro out when the company is going into bankrupt they would probaly be in a better financial standings. i mean the ford mustang was in the same boat under cover when there were testing the car. when the production came the mustang was out before the camaro could even hit the production line. i saw he mustang before i saw the camaro and there were like 4 new mustangs and 1 camaro.

Had they brought it out before it was ready for prime time this forum would be nothing but quality complaints. Bringing out a "new car" takes a while and all things considered, they did it in record time.

If they would have had it in development back in the late 90's like they should have
