Ricers Are Cute

Was driving back up to PA this weekend from picking up my 2013 2SS, I ran into a funny thing.

I had about 30 minutes left on my trip when I was riding behind a GT 500 'Vert. After I bit of that I start to hear a blowoff valve in the distance, I look over to my right and there is this younger kid in a VW Golf he had put a turbo on....this dude thought his car was so bad.

I immediately start laughing at him because I knew what he wanted. He didn't enjoy me laughing either. After about a mile of him revving at me I sat up in my seat like I was ready to drop it and go, so I pass the GT500.

Then I give him the point to go, I never accelerated. He guns it. When he figures out I didn't race him, he drops back even with me again. By the time he gets back to me I can't help but smile at him again.

Again with the revving...for about another mile.

I rolled down my window, waved, and got off on my exit.

Poor fella.

Yea it's nice to have a bad ass car and not have to prove it to anyone. Not worth having to race someone and possibly get a speeding ticket or even worse a drag racing ticket. :(

This one of the reasons I'm leaving the 4 cylinder scene.... (I own an 07' Cobalt SS Supercharged).

Too many tool bags drive around in those cars, and think they are the shit.

I had a 2nd run in last week with a modified Jetta GLI that I blew the doors off of 2 years ago.

The kid kept blippin the throttle to get is blow off valve to sneeze at me.

I just laughed at him and waved.

I guess he didn't learn from the last time....

Come on guys, you're being a little harsh. They are just trying to get your attention because you left your sweet-n-sour chicken at the restaurant.

It's inevitable with a fast looking car. I find it funny that if I drive like a prick to get around someone or maneuver through traffic that it never fails some ricer or pickup truck driver will feel the need to try and keep up or try and out do me. I'm just trying to get through traffic, not trying to show off, and next thing I know I'm getting a ricer flyby or a diesel smokeout.

My real fun comes with driving my '94 Camaro. On the freeway I drive with the electric cutout closed and at freeway cruising speeds, I have no drone at all - it's easy to have a conversation over the exhaust. I realize the carbon fiber tailpanel, brickyard spoiler, Zroc hood, ground effects, etc all attract the "tuners" so it always seems to get their attention. I had some ricer fly by me and then slow down to get next to me. I looked over and laughed and started to open the cutout so I could make him go deaf by nailing the gas while I was next to him. At the same time he started the 3 honk countdown to race. He didn't make it to 3, once the cutout opened he stopped honking and got over away from my car.

Haha, where I live, if you are caught drag racing they take your car, sell it, give you 60% of the returns, then take your license, and finally make you jump through a circus of hoops to get it back. DEFINETLY NOT worth it!

Hahaha I love these stories, everyone always has to try to one up people and sometimes they just don't know what they're dealing with.
