Here's what mine sounds like. Rotofab and JBA catless mids. My windows are down.

ROTO-FAB, with the big gulp is what I have. Easy install and proven performance.

Rotofab or CAI. Both are good choices with similar performance and sound.

So now we're getting threads like this in the ZL1 section?

I have the K&N, I like the real CF. I have had some dipped pieces peel. The gain is about 30 HP and no tune required so you can keep your warranty (depending on your dealer of course).

Cut him some slack, a brand new ZL1 owner and Camaro5 member. Its a legitimate question. The question is about ZL1s, not sure why you are upset.

honeslty there is no best CAI so just pick one based on what you want.
price? rotofab used to be about the best at $399 or something not sure if it still is. looks? pick the one you like the looks of best. no tune? rotofab CAI K&N this is a mod I think people constanly overthink. same with catchcans. I have rotofab as they all just look like CAI's to me so I got the one that was economical as my eye just doesn't see much difference between any of them.

There are some differences in the air intakes but they are not huge. I currently have the Airaid system on my car. In my hunt for horsepower I would swap mine out if I was relatively certain something would give me a big improvement. If I was to start from scratch again I would buy the ADM unit because I'm very familiar with his work now and know everything he does is top notch, I think the enclosed box design may be a little better at making sure you get cold air in the intake. If you crank up the power a lot you need the more rigid tubes. ADM, rotofab, CAI, new Z/28, all good systems. I hear JLT is the way to go if you want to run the 108 throttle body....but you need to be thinking really big if you are going this route.
