Metallic Paint for 2012 Camaros?

Has anyone heard if the plants in Japan that were damaged have been repaired and the ingredient used to make metallic paints is back in production? The Chevy dealers still do not have any metallic paints available on the 2012 Camaros.

I believe the last update was that IBM and the other metallic colors were on restraint and not going to be produced this year.

The plant in japan has been back up and running since May 8th.

However, fbodfather has given us a few hints already as to what is happening....

GM is probably validating new colors that won't be using the same pigment that is only available in the Japanese plant. That's my bet. There will probably be a completely new metallic blue as well.

Thanks for covering my back, I appreciate it. I guess I should have done a better job checking past threads. I had not seen an update from Fbodfather or Number3 lately and was hoping they might have more current information and give us an update.

Just waiting for the right color to become available. Many other people who actually own their camaro's request for other threads to be closed also due to repetition.

Okay, but isn't a message board by defenition going to be repetitious? I haven't looked beyond the top thread on the board (this one), but I bet you there will be a thread about:

Someone not waving and or/being jealous of the Camaro
Someone getting in an accident/car ding
Someone being new
Someone wanting to argue about v6 vs v8
Someone's first mod
etc...

My point is, if you are worried about repetition and if every repetitive thread were closed, YOU'D HAVE NO MESSAGE BOARD. I bet if you don't click on a thread that you deem repetitious, it may alleviate some of that annoyance.

While I'm sure there have been many threads started on the topic of possible new colors, I haven't seen all of them, and I haven't seen the references by fbodfather. So one, thanks to Dirty D for reposting those, and two, this thread has benefited at least one person

Some of the people on here are just waiting for GM to get their act together in the Paint Department and offer some more color on our favorite car before placing an order for their dream ride.
