Hey Doc - Hope everything is going well. Love your thorough journal that can constantly be referenced!

I was wondering how your seat conversion was coming along, if you're still doing it. I've been trying to look into doing a driver seat swap for the track. Id like to have the OEM seat for the street, and sparco for the track. Main reason im doing it is for headroom, but id probably do a harness and everything if possible at once. What are you looking into in terms of braket? Seat Model? Do you know of any issues with ABS when the seat is unplugged? Thanks!

Thanks. No I haven't looked into seats yet, been busy helping a friend through a recovery from major surgery. I'll probably look into it after the holidays when I have more time.

Been following this thread off and on for months. Great work! I'm kicking myself for not documenting my build (i.e. the weight of everything) as well as you have. Thanks for sharing!

Hey I was wondering have you had any issues with brake fade with RB rotors? and why not just upgrade to 6 piston cts-v brakes? mostly asking because I can't decide which route to go and I like the way you have done everything for your car.

I wish I had thought to weigh my car at a truck scale before I had done anything to it so I'd have the starting weight but otherwise I think I was able to get all the important stuff documented. Glad it was useful to you!

No brake fade whatsoever. I thought about upgrading to 6 piston Brembos in the front but that was about $4k and at the time there weren't very many options available yet. So for half that I chose RB and their rotors have performed flawlessly. And (for me anyways) the savings in unsprung rotating weight was the bigger benefit. That helps not only for braking, but also for acceleration and suspension response when cornering.

Another advantage is because of their design, under hard repeated braking like you do on a road course they run about 150 degrees cooler than a solid rotor. So unless you're going pro or semi-pro racing and need the 6 piston brakes, the stock SS brakes and RB rotors make a great performance combo.

I enjoy re-reading your build thread once in a while, again thanks for taking the time to write everything down.

So all in all, looks like you can pull 200 lbs of out the car, maybe 225, without removing the seats and stuff like that.

I think I'll keep running my car at the strip, dial in the new parts that have been installed, and then embark on a quick trip down weight reduction lane.

If you remove the right kind of weight, it's amazing the difference it can make.

Yeah I got 300-400 out of a few 4th gens but they lost creature comforts like A/C.

Did you say earlier whether you current 19" tires put you at stock height or are they shorter than stock?

They aren't as tall as the stock tires but I lowered the car to close the wheel gap.

Hey doc i know you're not much of quarter mile guy but did you ever get the chance to actually take it to your local track to get some numbers? I love your build btw the unorthodox way to produce power is the mpst effective way
