Ok so I was messing around in my car yesterday, just playing around with the radio and what-not. And I remembered someone mentioning on this site that you could hold the "menu" button for a few seconds to see what version your PDIM or whatever is updated to. Well, as all of you know, theres no menu button, so I figured the "menu" button was the config button. So I held the config button down for 15 or 20 seconds, and the message "Test Mode Activated" popped up on the radio.

I held the config button for another 15-20 seconds and it turned test mode off. Does anyone have any idea what this does? Me and a few buddies were collaborating that it might be a experimental performance tune from the factory. Lol, stupid I know, but still, HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE!!

No, I didn't. When it came on, I was surprised as hell and pretty much turned it off right after I turned it on.

Whew! Good thing you turned it back off. No one has been able to pass the test and the car turns into a Mustang if you fail.

I'd imagine it may be a demo mode? Maybe not - test mode is kind of crazy wording for demo mode.

That mode cranks the engine up to 500 HP... at least thats what some guy at a car show told me whos brothers girlfriends cousins friends former roommate who works for GM said.

You can get run diagnostics checks for each of the control modules by a sequence of buttons in the Corvette. Maybe this is a similar feature.

I would say it is some sort of diagnostic mode for the techs to plug their programmer into to activate certian features when you add like the steering wheel controls, or bluetooth capibilities... But I am just guessing..

It could be just what it says A test mode to test all the electronic settings on the car.
