Three connections for Boston acoustic amplifier

So I’ve been having issues with my front speakers only so I figured I’d take a look at the plugs sliding the tape Out of the way I found this within a couple inches of the X3 plug at the amplifier. The what looks like blue casing is a type of foil. There are two. Each is 4 wires being wrapped together to make look like 1. I have figured out one chunk is the 2 front speakers and the other the 2 back. Should each have bare wires strands hanging out and then all wrapped up together so they were touching?
