I have Eagle Eye halo lights and I have had no issues with the wires melting or the adjustment screws breaking.

No no I was asking if he gets flashed at from his eagle eyes, some dbag at autozone said that projectors shine straight down the road into oncoming peoples eyes "blinding" them...that's why dad doesn't want me getting the eagle eyes

Only if they are adjusted improperly. Projectors have a more controlled beam pattern, and way less light spill than traditional halogen headlights. That's why they are becoming standard equipment on new cars. The AZ dbag is probably riding around in Honda Civic thats 1" off the ground then, if he has that much issue with them.

With the halogen housing (called a reflector) is different than a projector (used with some halogens and HIDs. The projector bends the light source for a more controlled light pattern. A reflector just throws the light in various directions. When researching proper projectors people use a "good cutoff" as an indicator of a good projector (putting it lightly). I've been told that the morimoto projectors (involve baking your housings) work really well and eagle eyes (that have projectors) are actually made for halogen bulbs. It seems that many people are very happy with the eagle eyes so I assume getting those and adding an HID kit is much better for other people on the road than just adding an HID kit to our reflector housings.

If not quite concerned about having a "factory" look, then yes. Just don't have the expectation of "as factory" results. That's the price you (don't) pay when you go the aftermarket route.
