i read that the ls9 ( same 1 in the caddy sts v, 556hp) will be in it. thats according to supper chevy mag. for this month. it also said that they arent producing a Z28 at all. but ive heard that it was just on the 'back burner' for now

well, if the LS7 is on it's way out, i rescind my previous comment.
my new guess is LSA, i still don't think that the z28 should run the same engine as the corvette ZR1, just a personal opinion though.

That would be the LSA (in the Caddy STS) and not the LS9.

I say they stick the big motor is the SS and out the smaller in the Z28. So out the LSA in the SS and the LS3 in the Z28. Make the RS package indentical and available on both. Either whay I'd be okay with a dry sump system.

I would have to say LS7 makes the most sense, maybe tuned to get a little more power?

GMPP already made an "LS7 Camaro", and it would seem to be the next logical step in Camaro models, although the LSA could be a good alternative (to make the power upgrade a bit more worth it).

I do think they should use the LS9 though! But not in a Z28 .. that would be a ZL1.

if anything they will do the 427 the Z will mostly be badging and interior. In my opinion it wont be that special, and if it is, it will cost 45k and not get much attention

The LS9 is too expensive. (Would make the Z28 ~$50,000) and the LS7 is on its way out of production(this 427 SB is one of my favorites) which leaves the LSA.

Unless they can bring an awesome DI Gen V out in the next year (probably pretty doubtful, but I have hope).

I will wait for the Gen V introduction in the Camaro before I buy one because that's how long it will take me to repay my student loans.

if you make it cool its going to cost 45k and thats not going to get the buyers. Sure there will be some initially, but then its going to the taper. Look at the challenger SRT-8 or the challenger in general Dodge it not making money on that car. So if the SS takes off you wont see the Z.

dont take this in the wrong way. But theres always a REP who knows something and everybody knows a rep. Really Z28 wouldnt sell unless they make 1 of 1000 kind of a thing. Unless they put different badges on it do a few small tweaks. Making the car 45-50k wont sell look a the gt-500

I would say the LSA.

The LS7 is much larger and more radically tuned, meaning it will get a lower hwy mpg than the LSA. GM would rather say "556 hp and 21 mpg hwy!" Than "505 hp and 19 mpg hwy!" It just makes sense to use the LSA. No exotic materials, no exotic dry-sump oiling system, and supercharged just like the GT500, which would obviously be its main competitor. The LS7 is on its way out, anyway. I'd be willing to bet money that if they make a Z/28, and it doesn't use a Gen V motor, it will be the LSA.
