SS axles stayed. Fits just fine.

No, the VIN is entered to track what calibrations went into the vehicle using TIS. Calibrations available for a specific vehicle are displayed via the part number. You can check what updates are available - if any - for your vehicle at gmcalid.com.

Entering the VIN there will show what part numbers, and theyre associated calibrations where loaded when the vehicle was built.

What about the 6L80? Mines of at least 10mph because of the different trans gearing...

Any update on this?

Still no calibration. I am really beginning to lose my temper on this as my car is racking up fake miles. I keep contacting and they keep pushing it back. I refuse to get a tune since I do not want to blow my drivetrain warranty.

Has GM even given an updated timeframe for the new cal? The problem I see you having at resell time is all the fake miles that will count against you. Especily as many miles as you say you put on the car. What's the difference between what's on the odometer and actual now?

I did a gear swap from my dealership 2 weeks ago. I used the GM voucher for a free install and they also added the posi mod and new BMR rear diff bushing for me.
We got on the phone with GM and they told us that they are working on it and it's probably going to be out by the end of this year. Sooo idk if ican wait that long.. They did give me warranty on my 3.91. Even tho my car was tuned by mike Norris. They said nothing about it. Since my car is already tuned I wonder if I should just got get another tune and get the speedo fixed.

I find it hard to believe that GM is actually working on a calibration specifically for this type of swap. I really do. If it isn't a factory setup, why would they spend time and money to develop a calibration for a retrofit? They have nothing to gain by doing this. Illogical.

Well GM made it as a performance upgrade for the SS. They even got performance package coming for the V6. So it's something that you can add after already owing a SS. So you don't have to go out an by a brand new 1LE.

Ahh, then that makes sense. Thanks for clarifying.

I really kind of agree with you on this. It might be a side project for GM, but nothing else. There are going to be very few people that will swap out the diff and still be so concerned about there warranty that they will use a OE calibration.

If you wait on GM and they do release an updated cal, when the dealer flashes it into your PCM, it will overwrite your entire tune, not just the gear portion.

Your already tuned, correct? Just update the gear ratio in your tune and your done. If you let the dealer update the gear ratio, there calibration will update everything and over write what you have. In short, you will lose the tune you have now. I wouldn't think Mike would have a problem updating the gear ratio. Takes all of 5 minutes.
