Thing is with a track day is that unless you've be soloed (qualified to drive alone) you'll have to run with an instructor and they aren't going to have you turned loose on a track without taking it slow at first and learning how to hit the Apex in the corners. I can also tell you from experience that when you first hit the track you won't have the balls to take your $40k all out knowing that if you go off road insurance won't pay.

I just did my first try at Eagle Canyon last week and my instructor had me leave the car in 4th gear the whole time during the first couple sessions. He was having me work on when to start braking and when/how to hit the Apex in the corners. One more track day and I'll probably be soloed.

That being said....if someone puts something together I would be interested in a road race. I'm up for trying to run with some 1LEs. Eagle Canyon would probably be the cheapest local track to run on.
