Couldn't wait anymore - bought another GM Car, but still holding out hope...

I've got car buying fever (or a spending problem) and took my down payment for my Camaro (22k) and put it on a brand new fully loaded Cadillac CTS. Got it for 3k below invoice.

I love the CTS! Got the DI engine (basically the 6 cyl camaro) and it will be my best daily driver. I wasnt a bit sad to see my Camry hybrid go. They gave me a little above book for it as well. It was a positive experience all around.

The one thing I'm still getting used to is the suspension. The rear shocks POUND down when you hit a speedbump (and my neighborhood has 16 of them.) On the road, especially on the freeway, it is whisper quiet and full of power.

I am waiting for the dealer to call me (eventually someday) to tell me I have moved above 1100. Then, again, I will need to decide; trade in the CTS and get the Camaro, or whore all my other toys on fleabay to get the car? I still want the Camaro, but when I ordered the Camaro I wanted this car too. Many people don't like the CTS for various reasons. I personally LOVE the car.

To be continued....

I bought the 08 SS Impala because I needed a new car before going back to work [Off 15 months]. But I always still planned on getting the Camaro. Kind of glad it's taking so long- The Impala is a great car and will continue to be the daily driver/bad weather car. The only rain the Camaro should see are the storms passing over Area 51. Just glad it's not winter time there.

Here are some PICS...

Here are some pics of the CTS. I am going to try and manage a way to get both. Even if I give this car to the wifey and find another hybrid.

Can I ask why you'd want a hybrid? I am sorry I am not sold. With the increased costs to buy it, the limited battery life, the fact that no one knows how to dispose of the battery when its dead, a slight increase in mpg...etc etc etc...

Plus the fact that gas is not that expensive for all intents and purposes.

My advise... unless you are Mr. Green, which you're not b/c you bought a CTS and are considering a Camaro also, can the hybrid idea... Especially the import hybrid idea. THATS WHATS KILLING GM/Chrysler. I know I have a Honda but we have had it snce 1998, believe me it will be the LAST import we own!

I just got out of my Camry Hybrid to get into the CTS. Since I spend about 4.5 hours a day in bumper to bumper traffic, either on the phone, or listening to music, I figure if I'm going to do this I'm going to do this right. I wanted my "mobile office" to be as comfortable and luxurious as possible. I also wanted a quiet ride, and even on LA's severely grooved pavement, this CTS fits the bill perfectly.

Would I consider another hybrid? Sure. But only after gas goes up past 5 bucks a gallon again and fear mongering about there being no energy is around. GM is finally figuring out that their previous hybrid engines were failures and utilizing better technology, the new VUE is substantial proof of that. I am a very green individual when I want to be.

Now, the one thing about this CTS that I am still getting used to is the suspension. It is the fully loaded premium package with the "sport" suspension. I may have mentioned this in my first post, but I will say it again...hitting speedbumps on this CTS with sport package is MURDER on my back and neck. Even at 5 mph.....THUD! I don't know how I can improve that one piece. My wife's 2005 Mercedes E320 (also with "sport" suspension) runs through dips and speedbumps like it was nothing.

Does anybody have any suggestions? Should I take it in and have it looked at, or is this the way the suspension is?
