Texas Speed & Performance 427 LS3 Rotating Assy
Hey guys like it says up top i was wondering how much work would it take to build a 427 out of the ls3. Im not to sure about alum blocks and how you would bore out the cylinder walls. Im kinda stuck between building a stroker motor or just cammin/bolt on's. So any input would be awesome

i don't think you can get a 427 out of a LS3, its a 416 or 418 CI but get the new 454 lsx that is how you will make power LSX7 heads All forged motor and 6 bolts heads.

If i do the numbers yes you can do a 427 on a LS3 but that is bore out the cylinder walls to 4.070 that is a lot if you don't re sleeve it, You are beter off going with a 418 and not bore out the cylinder walls.

This makes no sense. A 418 has a 4.070 Bore. A 416 uses a 4.065 Bore. OP, You can definately do a 427 LS3. All you need is this. Callies Compstar #APU317-CS Forged Crankshaft

You dont need a stroker motor to go fast or make power

Proline makes a 427 out of a stock LS3 block as well. It is easily done.

You can definitely get a 427. They are all crankshaft stroke. Also you should not boost one too much, as most builders will tell you the rings are too high on the piston. (but some others will do it all day long). Just voicing my opinion.

The 418 is the way to go for boost, there is no doubt. I may be doing the sam ehere very soon. It all depends on my sponsorships...I cant afford to do it on my own right now, business has been down.
