tad bit more than that it has to do with the tires and seeing how they grip.....more or less dry hopping is small test to see how your car is hooking...you do it very quickly..and it kinda makes the car hop..you BAM..then hit the brakes

Yeah, I am sure the pit Nazis would be all over you down here...

Kind of like a long time ago I got pulled over in New York State for "Uncontrolled Acceleration" i.e. I did a small burnout from a stoplight. No line loc or anything... never went above 30 mph.
