Stripes over Clear bra?
The guy doing my stripes (bumblebee/extended) told me that the stripes would go over the clear bra?
I have neither stripes or clear bra installed yet and that doesnt make sense to me? Anyone have any experience?

I would think they should go under the clear bra to have it correct, but thats just my opinion. I have had clear bras on several vettes in the past.

Yeah, I wouldn't think you would put stripes over a clear bra. I think he ment to say he could put the clear bra over the stripes.

yea it had to be a mistake. there'd be no way to overlook the section of the stripe where it leaves the hood and goes onto the bra.

Yeah there is no way you would put it on top of the clear bra. what would be the point of having the protection under the paint? Must be a mistake.

Yep - thats what I figured, but since I am a Camaro/stripes nubie I thought I would ask.
Note that I am not a bra nubie. Thanks all!

The only reason that you might want to consider the stripes over the clear bra is if you are getting Matte black stripes, as the clear bra on top does make the matte turn into a gloss black. This is a small detail, but I would also recommend the stripes first then the clear bra.

As a Vinyl guy let me chime in.
There are two schools of thought here. If you put the stripes UNDER the bra, they will install better. Flat with no raised area, and they will be protected from damage. But it will change the appearance of the stripes where it goes under the protective material. If you do them on TOP of the bra there is a benefit. FIrst, if you need or want to change the graphics, you do not have to spend the money to replace the bra. The color and gloss of the stripes will remain consistent and have a cleaner look. If you are getting MATTE stripes, they MUST be installed on top. The Bra will make the appearance ULTRA GLOSSY. With gloss stripes there is no right or wrong way, it is a preference. But they will last long under the bra simply because they would be a direct surface install. I hope this helps!

Thanks XMICRO_SS! I am now better educated on stripes. I think I will insist that the stripes go under the bra. I dont plan on changing them anytime soon.
